Online exercise and online dance fitness classes have become increasingly more popular over the years with new developments in technology and live video sharing. There are also numerous reasons as to why individuals look to online classes versus in-person classes. This might include an unpredictable and hectic schedule, having children and being unable to bring them to physical fitness locations, or lack of transportation.
If you fit into the category of wanting to attend fitness groups but being unable to go in person, online dance fitness classes would be ideal for you. The only thing left for you to do is decide what type of dance or exercise would be most suitable for you and what you want to achieve. Luckily, there’s a wonderful exercise available to suit any specific need you may have.

Nia Dance Online
Nia Dance is a fabulous movement art and fitness form that was specially designed following the complex make-up of the human body. Each one of the 52 movements aims to provide healing, fun, and overall amazing benefits. Such benefits focus on many areas, such as your mental and physical health, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual and self-connection.
The benefits that people experience from Nia Dance can vary, but the most commonly reported benefits include weight loss, strengthened muscles, improved organ, and cognitive functioning, supported cardiovascular functions and circulation, calmer energy, a positive, pleasurable, and healthier lifestyle, higher levels of mobility and flexibility between joints, and more!
All movements are the unique adaptation and blend of 9 different practices that originate from either dance, martial, or healing arts. Some of these practices include yoga, tai-chi, and modern dance. This blend of multiple practices is what allows Nia Dance to be completely adaptable to each person’s specific requirements and abilities.
Nia Dance is ideal for all, no matter your abilities or level of fitness. Movements rely on you listening to your body’s flow and not forcing unnatural actions. Despite its many benefits and unique, adaptable movements, Nia Dance is not a widely known practice. However, Dance NZ is a Hamilton and Raglan-based Nia Dance company that not only holds in-person classes but online classes too!

Accessing Classes for You
All online dance fitness classes at Dance NZ are held on Zoom, a video-sharing application specially designed for one-on-one calls, seminars and conferences, and other meeting and data-sharing groups. Zoom is available for most devices, such as tablets, phones, and computers. Zoom can be downloaded here. Once you’ve downloaded Zoom, you can access any Dance NZ online classes once you’ve booked through a unique Zoom link.
The great thing about Dance NZ is that online classes capture live, in-person classes. This way, you can maintain a great and similar level of connection to the class, your teacher, and your peers. Viewing classes online can be difficult from your smartphone or tablet, so it’s recommended to transfer the video feed to a largest screen like a TV.
If you have a smart TV or Chromecast, you can transfer the Zoom video feed from any device to your TV. If you have a laptop and HDMI cord instead, you can connect the cord from your TV to your laptop to transfer the video feed. Another option available at Dance NZ if you really can’t commit to a specific timeslot, is the 24-hour purchasable replays.
These videos capture one class which is then open to be purchased and then viewed for a 24-hour time period. This allows you to watch and participate in your own time. You can also watch as many times as you like, and use features to rewind, fast-forward and pause the video. This is great if you want to practice a certain movement or perfect the routine.
