Are you looking for a Parkinson’s fitness class in Hamilton? Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative neurological system ailment that affects a person’s ability to move, sometimes dramatically. Apathy, tremors, reduced movement, depression, tight joints, and slurred speech are all common symptoms and issues in Parkinson’s.
Currently, there is no treatment for Parkinson’s; however, research has shown that, in addition to certain medications, other forms of exercise and fitness can help alleviate Parkinson’s symptoms. Higher activity rates have been demonstrated to lower the severity of Parkinson’s symptoms depending on each individual’s symptoms and specific needs.
Dance NZ has available Nia Dance lessons which are specifically designed for people with Parkinson’s and their caretakers. This class is intended to help improve symptoms through gentle movements and a stimulating routine. Also, it’s a great way to increase social levels.
Nia Dance Helping Parkinson’s
Exercise is strongly recommended for people with Parkinson’s to help them enhance their quality of life, cope with various symptoms and problems, and improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Dance, yoga, and Tai-Chi have all been shown to have beneficial impacts on Parkinson’s symptoms in studies.
Nia Dance is a unique blend of martial arts, healing arts, and dance arts; each of the 52 movements has its origins in one of these skills, resulting in a wide range of advantages for those with Parkinson’s. This practice also incorporates movement, rhythm, and vocalization, which are the most ideal factors for exercise for individuals with Parkinson’s. The Nia Technique is a communal kind of fitness that allows people to meet new people and build new friendships.
Nia Dance can help individuals with Parkinson’s by providing a range of benefits. Namely, increased circulation, higher levels of flexibility between joints and mobility, pain relief, strengthening muscles and joints, improving organ and cognitive functions, enhanced coordination and balance, reduced depressive symptoms, and higher mood levels.
