Want to start the new year off right? What better way to do so than to get involved in mentally and physically stimulating New Year dance Hamilton! Maybe you have a New Year’s resolution to be more active or try something new? Look no further than this blog!

Nia Dance is a beautifully choreographed dance with 52 forms of movement. Considered holistic in nature, this fitness form was specially designed to provide spiritual, mental and physical healing and improvements. Some common benefits include: increased mobility, weight loss, higher levels of happiness, decreased anxiety and stress, and deeper spiritual and self-connection. Because of its unique design that heavily factors in the composition of core components of the human body (muscle groups, joints, organ structure), it is easy to adapt to each individual’s body and needs while still providing all the benefits.

But where exactly can you practice Nia Dance? Well, read on to find out about Dance NZ.

What’s New With Dance NZ In 2022?

If you’re a long time member at Dance NZ, welcome back! Or if you’re a new member or looking for Nia Dance classes to participate in, welcome! Dance NZ is a Nia Dance company that teaches 5 classes a week at in-person venues located in Raglan or Hamilton. These classes are also available online in the form of 24-hour purchasable replays or online, live Zoom streams. 2022 Dance NZ classes, both online and in-person, start up again on Tuesday the 25th of January.

The timetable of all Term 1 Nia Dance classes, including both online and physical sessions, takes place at the same times, dates and venues as last year. You can view these details at the end of this blog or here on the Dance NZ website. If you’re planning to attend Nia Dance Move to Heal on the 25th, arrive half an hour early at 10:45 am to enjoy a lovely cup of tea and chat with your peers and instructor, Belinda Goodwin.

In order to attend physical classes, you must be fully vaccinated and have your vaccination pass ready to be scanned upon arrival. We understand that there may be reasons, medical or personal, that you cannot get your vaccination. So, if you are not fully vaxxed but still wish to attend a class, sign up for an online Dance NZ class here!

Driving to class? Not to worry, parking is available at all venues either provided on the street or at the venue itself. Don’t think you can make the specified online or in-person dates and time slots? Purchase a 24-hour class replay here on the Dance NZ site. There are also special holiday class replays available to those who purchased a Term Pass during 2021 Term 4. Contact Belinda here to receive a free replay each week of the classes that you attended during this time (Term 4, 2021).

A single Nia Dance session at Dance NZ, either online or in-person, is $17. If you’re interested in numerous classes in a week or term, there are many deals currently available for classes on the Dance NZ website. Some of these deals include the $15 for 3 classes of your choice if you’re a first-time Dance NZ member deal, or the Term Pass deal of Term One of 2022 which is only $160 ($13.33 per class for 12 classes). You can check out these deals, as well as many other special offers, here.

Lastly, a new teacher is starting at Dance NZ! Everyone, please give a warm welcome to Hilda Mali when you see her at your Friday Classic Nia class at 9:30 am. She’ll be joining Belinda in leading this class and guiding you with her versatile teaching and dance style. Hilda intertwines her western and indigenous practices with healing wisdom, and provides passionate dance through creative and healing movement.
