<p>It feels so cool to see the dynamics of what happens when men step onto the dance floor with a group of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQuYykrcWn0" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">women dancing</a>. I see the men usually going straight to the front of the group and giving it their absolute best. I feel their excitement to want to move their bodies and do their best at following the guided movement. </p>



<p>The<a href="https://anyflip.com/xuga/xnbv/basic" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Nia Technique</a> brings men and women to the dance floor as singles dancing and as couples</p>



<p>The women are only too happy to take a back row approach beside the men and let them do what men do best, &#8220;take the Lead&#8221;</p>



<p>This is a typical situation and yet there is always an exception, sometimes the men choose to enjoy dancing with a group from the back of the class and be inspired by the gracefully expressive nature of a woman dancing. </p>



<p>It is a wonderful feeling to see a group of men and women dancing and enjoying these dynamics, and I see it bring out the best in <a href="https://missbish.com/what-do-you-love-about-being-a-woman/">what a woman enjoys about being a woman</a>, and <a href="https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/men-revealed-top-40-best-11841514">what a man feels good about being a man</a>.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to get a man onto the dance floor ?</h2>



<p>The in the sober world of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/sameguysdancing/videos/217-fleetwood-mac-dreams/347148263239917/">men dancing </a>this is believe it or not a common question most women ask. Us women just want to see and enjoy the company of men dancing. The men will say they are shy and scared to make a fool of themselves, The whole two left feet excuse. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Men take the lead in a dance class , naturally they pick up the moves faster.</h2>



<p>As a Nia Technique teacher, I see men coming to dance with us more and more. To the sheer delight of the women dancing the men seem to naturally &#8220;get&#8221; the pattern solving aspect of the choreography in Nia dance and they generally pick up the dance moves quicker.</p>



<p>It&#8217;s a delight to see men consciously choosing to take care of their health and fitness, often this happens as a <a href="http://dancenz.co.nz/injury-recovery-class-raglan/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">recovery program</a> and as an easeful approach to exercise<a href="https://www.lauriebass.com/blog-dynamic/56-nia-for-men" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> men are finding the pleasure of Dance</a></p>

<p>As a Brown Belt, <a href="https://www.realbuzz.com/articles-interests/fitness/article/what-is-the-nia-technique/">Nia technique</a> instructor a common comment I hear is &#8221; I want to come to dance with you and I&#8217;m not sure if I can follow the moves? Or more commonly &#8221; Oh I have two left feet! &#8220;</p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14px;">is is understandable as I remember the courage I had to find to even consider turning up in a dance class where I didn&#8217;t know anyone or how to follow choreographed dance. </span> </p>

<p>Then I see when people show up for the first time, they are made to feel welcome by the other dancers, who are delighted to have someone new to join us! <p>2020 the year I hear people say with a daunting feeling sigh afterward! Yeah, it was a difficult one. A silver lining for Nia Technique Teachers as we were encouraged to offer our classes online. Bringing more value and accessibility to people who wanted to keep up their social interactions and of course their fitness.  </p>

<p>My first interaction with my students is usually an email or a phone call, I sense the nervousness and braveness in her voice at the same time! <p>During Covid, I felt so thankful for my Teenage son at home, with his help I figured ow to get y weekly Nia dance classes online via ZOOM. I saw many single people at home by themselves so happy to see the faces of their friends on screen. <p>It makes me smile when I hear that my class attendees gather together at someone&#8217;s house after the class or at a Cafe and enjoy a relaxing cuppa after class. Then what makes me laugh is when I hear that sometimes people attend the coffee meet-up and for whatever reason unable to join the class that day, so they just went for the cuppa and chat!! </p>

<p>I offer a 24 Hour replay of the class. It is a non-downloadable 24hr link made during every class. For my students who have purchased a TERM PASS ( prepaid before the start of the School Terms ) this is sent to them automatically if they miss the class and is freely available to them the next day.</p>

<p id="viewer-se5i">Nia With Belinda provides a class known as Nia for Parkinson&#8217;s FREEDOM DANCE which is specifically designed for those with Parkinson&#8217;s as well as their caregivers. It is an approved Waikato Strength and Balance class for seniors as well as individuals with limited mobility.</p>

<p id="viewer-9a01c">This class uses Nia Dance movements that have been adjusted to be gentler and less complex than what is performed in other Nia With Belinda classes. These movements and the routine they are performed in targets brain coordination and balance improvement, and developing muscle and joint strength.</p>

<p id="viewer-80uup">Just like all other Nia With Belinda classes, Nia For Parkinson&#8217;s FREEDOM DANCE aims to provide all individuals with a safe, calm, and judgment-free environment, and supportive social connections with their peers in class and their teacher, Belinda Goodwin, who has received advanced certifications for dance workshops and classes for Parkinson&#8217;s. FREEDOM DANCE is held on Friday at 12:00 pm every week.</p>

If you&#8217;re looking for a fun form of exercise that you can complete outside of class just as easily as inside of class, Nia Dance is the ideal practice to pursue.</p>

<p id="viewer-7gq74">Of course! <a href="https://www.niawithbelinda.com/post/acc-recovery-program-in-raglan" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>Nia Dance Move to Heal</u></a> and <a href="https://www.niawithbelinda.com/post/exercise-for-parkinson-s" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><u>Nia for Parkinson&#8217;s Freedom Dance</u></a> are both approved Waikato Strength and Balance classes for individuals experiencing limited mobility and seniors. Your teacher, Belinda Goodwin, is a certified teacher for the Nia Technique, owning her white, green, and blue belt.</p>

Despite a large number of benefits to physical health, mental and emotional wellbeing, spiritual connection, and cognitive functions, Nia Dance (or the Nia Technique) is not a well-known form of fitness or recovery.</p>

Nia With Belinda classes also have differing levels of difficulty set out within each session so you can perform at levels you feel comfortable with or at a level to strengthen and extend your limits.</p>

Nia Dance also encourages social interaction throughout the dance exercises while also allowing dancers to create individual expression.</p>
