If this sounds like it could be for you, read more below or check out Dance NZ, based in Hamilton and Raglan and offering a variety of classes to beginners and experienced alike!

What If I Have No Experience in Fitness or Dance?

Whether you’re at a beginner level or are a complete newcomer in the world of dance and physical activity, there’s no need to stress about your skills when you’re participating in Nia Dance. The 52 movements this dance form is made up of were designed to target experienced and novice dancers, and even those who have limited mobility and flexibility between joints.

This is because Nia Dance is also used as a form of support for injury or illness recovery and other ailments. Your teacher, Belinda Goodwin, will also provide everyone in each session the option to perform different moves at varying levels of difficulty, allowing you to choose the level you feel most comfortable with.

Gentle Nia is the class most suited for beginners and newcomers, although any class is ideal for participation! In every class, you’ll find a judgment-free, supportive, and enthusiastic environment, and positive and encouraging energy and words from your teacher and peers.
