Let The Joy of Nia Dance Flow Through You
Nia Dance, commonly known as the Nia Technique, is a unique form of movement in the form of dance. Inspired by three healing arts, three martial arts, and three dance arts, all 52 stylized motions are non-impact and highly adaptable. Some of these nine movement arts include Tai-chi, Duncan dance, yoga, and the Alexander technique. Nia Dance’s unique combination of movement arts not only delivers joy through fun dance but also its music and mindfulness practices.
Each movement in Nia Dance was created to assist your mind to relax and remove tensions in your life, building you up with more joy. Nia Dance guides you into concentrating on the music’s rhythm and the Nia movements as they flow organically through your body. This helps you to have a more enjoyable and relaxed experience in and out of class, increasing your levels of joy and happiness.
The great thing about Nia Dance is that you don’t need to commit to hours of practice each week to notice an improvement in your health, well-being and joy. A Nia Dance workout can be as short as 7 minutes at home or as long as an hour in a social setting. Both are equally beneficial to your health and provide joy to your day immediately after your Nia workout.
