What preconceived values are disclosed in my self-image?

Identity, How do I describe myself?

In a post-pandemic world, I am starting to reemerge differently and I have noticed I am not alone in choosing to unravel more of who I would authentically choose to be. My values and core beliefs have been reassessed, this is one of the more positive effects that a global slow down created for many.

This big shift in lifestyle choices is particularly evident in a community that longs for true connection and happiness. Being forced to stay home and spent time with family gave retrospection to what I valued and how I wanted my life to be. There were daunting moments of being faced with the realness of how my lifestyle choices had impacted my sense of self and who I was out there in the world.

It empowered a longing to be happy and to be valued for my individual uniqueness. This fueled my drive for making changes, The decisions I had made that put other people’s happiness before my own were starting to be noticed. I wanted more time for myself and things that made me happy. I wanted to find others who felt this shift too.

The Nia Technique offers Unique Fitness classes that encourage people to choose their own interpretation of the guided movement.

Dance Moves for EveryBody

Any Body at any age can dance the dance of Nia, and with the new advent of Zooming into fitness classes online, I didn’t have to rush back into the public. I discovered I could attend Dance Classes at home!

There was a fear of wondering whether I could move at an ability level that would be accepted in a dance class, and actually even the words Dance Class made me a little anxious, I knew I wanted to give it a try, so when I discovered I could zoom in from home, It felt way less daunting than stepping into a Dance class as a beginner or someone who hadn’t been into community dance classes for a while.

The Nia Technique is way more than a licenced Nia Dance teacher standing at the front of the class and offering choreographed guided movements. It’s about authentically believing that our uniqueness and individual expression is a beautiful human quality and embracing it.

A Licenced Nia Technique teacher delivers this promise by creating a safe space where anything goes as far as dance moves are expressed.

Licenced Nia Technique teacher Belinda offers a school Holiday Online Zoom Dance class from her lounge!
