<p>I hope you are all having a lovely start to your week! We have our outdoor Nia Dance class at the Raglan Growers Market, on February the 18th at 5.30 pm. It will be a fantastic evening and I hope to see you all there!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="718" height="1024" src="http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Screen-Shot-2022-02-01-at-6.44.56-PM-718x1024.png" alt="" class="wp-image-4219" srcset="http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Screen-Shot-2022-02-01-at-6.44.56-PM-718x1024.png 718w, http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Screen-Shot-2022-02-01-at-6.44.56-PM-480x685.png 480w" sizes="(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 718px, 100vw" /></figure>

<p>I also have a lovely spot prize to give away so keep your eyes peeled for that too!</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="435" height="1024" src="http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Screen-Shot-2022-02-01-at-6.44.48-PM-435x1024.png" alt="" class="wp-image-4218"/></figure>

<p>I also just want to say a massive welcome to our new joiners to Dance NZ for our Nia Dance classes, were so pleased for you to join us.&nbsp;</p>

<p></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="nia-dance-move-to-heal"><strong>Nia Dance Move to Heal&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Have you thought about joining our Nia Dance classes but are worried about the fact you haven&#8217;t attended a dance class before? Or feel as though you may be too “old”. Our Nia Dance Move to Heal will be the perfect opportunity for you to get back into the rhythm and try something new while nourishing your body with movement and the spiritual feeling that Nia Dance has to offer.</p>

<p>Nia Move to Heal is an approved Waikato Strong and Stable class for older adults. The class is made of combining standing and seated dance with joyful music and movement. The classes are held at 11.15 am Tuesdays at 499 Grantham Street, Waikato Sport Fishing Centre. Pre-bookings and online bookings are welcome.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Secure your spot with a term pass! Term passes are retailed at $160 per term, or if you&#8217;re new, I would highly recommend a first-time deal, which gives you 3 classes for only $15.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="nia-dance-and-it-s-social-benefits"><strong>Nia Dance and It’s Social Benefits&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Nia Dance Classe’s at Dance NZ are the perfect way to expand your social circle. Many find as they age they not only don&#8217;t find the time to spend with others but also find their social circle shrinks. Nia Dance not only alleviates mood but provides the perfect environment to share, connect and build relationships with others who share similar interests.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="moving-your-bodies-way"><strong>Moving Your Bodies Way</strong></h2>

<p>The &#8220;Body&#8217;s Way&#8221; is one of Nia&#8217;s most important ideas. Due to the fact that everyone&#8217;s mobility and stability differ, students are encouraged to pay close attention to their bodies in order to develop body awareness. Students must also be able to recognise bodily experiences like pleasure and pain. I wasn&#8217;t as aware of my body as I am today before I started learning Nia. Through discipline, healthy eating habits, exercise, and rest, Nia has helped me to genuinely understand and love my body.</p>

<p>Here are two reasons to consider when thinking about beginning Nia Dance:</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="release-negative-emotions"><strong>Release Negative Emotions&nbsp;</strong></h3>

<p>When your Nia teacher laughs and plays like a child, admire her and follow her lead. Arm blocks, chops, and kicks are all great ways to show off your unique strength&#8230; all while letting go of bad emotions in a humorous and enjoyable way</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="stay-in-your-body"><strong>Stay In Your Body&nbsp;</strong></h3>

<p>Our inner &#8216;conversation&#8217; naturally diminishes as we allow our bodies direct us via movements. Simply try free dancing at home without attaching yourself to your thoughts and observe how your mind ceases to wander and babble.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="book-now"><strong>Book Now</strong></h2>

<p>A Classic Nia class is a barefoot, sensory-based, cardio movement class set to an eclectic mix of global music. Nia inspires and educates you to move and live with embodied joy by combining the newest mind-body science with ancient wisdom. Try this grounding awareness dance in Hamilton&nbsp;at Dance NZ today!</p>

<p>Nia is designed to nurture, condition, and nourish your body and soul now and in the future by providing a connection to pleasure.</p>

<p>Nia emphasises fitness-dancing, mindfulness, neuroplasticity, self-healing, and, most importantly, Nia is fun. Nia is inspired by dance, martial arts, and healing arts.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="582" src="http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screen-Shot-2021-11-25-at-5.50.20-PM-1024x582.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3704" srcset="http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screen-Shot-2021-11-25-at-5.50.20-PM-1024x582.png 1024w, http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screen-Shot-2021-11-25-at-5.50.20-PM-980x557.png 980w, http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screen-Shot-2021-11-25-at-5.50.20-PM-480x273.png 480w" sizes="(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw" /></figure>

<p>Nia courses are a rich experience for the entire body, engaging everything from the bigger muscles of the body to the fingertips and toes. The practice combines Tai Chi, Aikido, Tae Kwon Do, Modern Dance, Duncan Dance, Jazz, Moshe Feldenkrais&#8217; work, the Alexander Technique, and Yoga to give you a sensory sample of each one and a sense of its chemistry.</p>

<p>This one-of-a-kind combination helps you to strike a balance between the feminine and the masculine, the precise and the fluid, the forceful and the yielding. We can express and explore different elements of our physical, emotional, and spiritual selves by combining various movement forms.&nbsp;</p>

<p>These movements connect us to a variety of energies, our breathing, and our personalities, all of which work together to keep the body lively and healthy while also allowing it to move easily and enjoyably.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="importance-of-grounding"><strong>Importance of Grounding&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Grounding, sometimes known as earthing, is a therapeutic practice in which you engage in activities that &#8220;ground&#8221; or electrically reconnect you to the earth.</p>

<p>Earthing science and grounding physics are used in this technique to describe how electrical charges from the earth can have beneficial impacts on your body. This sort of grounding therapy differs slightly from the technique utilised in mental health treatment.</p>

<p>Conditions that have been noted to be improved by grounding include:</p>

<p>&#8211; Chronic fatigue&nbsp;</p>

<p>&#8211; Chronic pain</p>

<p>&#8211; Anxiety and Depression</p>

<p>&#8211; Sleep disorders</p>

<p>&#8211; Cardiovascular Disease</p>

<p>Our outdoor Nia Dance classes are the PERFECT opportunity to become one with the earth and utilise what Nia Dance has to offer.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="404" src="http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screen-Shot-2022-01-24-at-2.58.57-PM-1024x404.png" alt="" class="wp-image-4159" srcset="http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screen-Shot-2022-01-24-at-2.58.57-PM-1024x404.png 1024w, http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screen-Shot-2022-01-24-at-2.58.57-PM-980x386.png 980w, http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Screen-Shot-2022-01-24-at-2.58.57-PM-480x189.png 480w" sizes="(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="importance-of-bodily-awareness"><strong>Importance of Bodily Awareness&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>We are more likely to recognise stress, anxiety, and tension as we become more conscious of our bodies and their sensations. The body detects stress much more quickly than the mind. The body&#8217;s way of letting you know you&#8217;re stressed is when muscles begin to stiffen.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nia improves the health of the body, mind, and spirit. Each Nia class instils mindfulness in your dance movement, leaving you feeling invigorated, cognitively strong, and emotionally balanced. Once you have recognised any stresses you have, Nia Dance can help you get one step closer to a healthier, happier life.</p>

<p>When it comes to <a href="https://www.pickthebrain.com/blog/11-reasons-things-love/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">doing the things you love,</a> it&#8217;s almost always more enjoyable <a href="https://myfcph.org/benefits-of-being-outdoors-and-physical-activity/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">taking part outdoors</a>. Now that summer is incoming and the weather is becoming warmer and brighter, it&#8217;s a great idea to take an <a href="https://www.sharevillage.org/the-health-benefits-of-taking-outdoor-activities" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">activity to the outdoors</a> to participate in! If you don&#8217;t have a pursuit you&#8217;re passionate about or want to find something new to enjoy, don&#8217;t worry. This blog will be discussing an <a href="http://dancenz.co.nz/live-classes/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">outdoor dance in Hamilton</a> that is perfect for absolutely anybody who wants to have some active fun in the sun.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="550" src="http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screen-Shot-2021-11-16-at-9.12.00-AM-1024x550.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3573" srcset="http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screen-Shot-2021-11-16-at-9.12.00-AM-1024x550.png 1024w, http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screen-Shot-2021-11-16-at-9.12.00-AM-980x527.png 980w, http://dancenz.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Screen-Shot-2021-11-16-at-9.12.00-AM-480x258.png 480w" sizes="(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw" /></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Nia Dance Can Be Participated In Anywhere</strong></h2>

<p>The world of <a href="https://nianow.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nia Dance</a> is expansive, and there&#8217;s a lot of things that make it such an amazing movement art. Nia Dance is considered to be more of a <a href="https://www.webmd.com/balance/guide/what-is-holistic-medicine" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">holistic approach to healing</a> and benefits and takes the form of dance with every 52 movements to provide a fun type of fitness.&nbsp;</p>

<p></p>

<p>The way Nia Dance was designed makes it an extremely adaptable and <a href="https://exercise.lovetoknow.com/No_Impact_Exercise" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">non-impact form of exercise</a>, making it easily accessible to anyone who wants to take part. Not only does its adaptability make it readily available for everyone but it also allows individuals to change the movements based on what feels right to their body, rather than forcing movements. Forcing movements is common in many <a href="https://www.wellandgood.com/hardest-no-equipment-exercises/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">other fitness types</a>, and can often lead to <a href="https://www.hss.edu/conditions_avoiding-muscle-fatigue-exercising-tips.asp#:~:text=Rest%2FRecovery%20%E2%80%93%20Complete%20a%20warm,workout%20sessions%20and%20strength%20repetitions." target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">increased injury, higher levels of exhaustion</a> and can make you sweatier.</p>

<p></p>

<p>Adapting movements to your own needs and abilities ensures that you don&#8217;t hurt yourself during a Nia Dance routine, and allows you to focus on your body which provides <a href="https://www.inc.com/geoffrey-james/neuroscience-says-your-body-mind-get-stronger-when-you-focus-on-this-one-thingdraft-1562273865.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">higher levels of healing</a> and benefits.
